this port testing software might be useful tool for:
-developers who are working on b2b integration b/w different services and want to have tool to verify connectivity to third party servers.
-administrators who want to verify if certain servers (SQL/ftp/ssh) are up and available from work stations.
-for users who want to verify availability of specific services like msn/yahoo messengers inside network from their work stations.
We are working on mac-os version of this application.

port 68
Port 68 is port for BOOTP protocol.
This port should be normally closed on windows machine.
You can check if this sport open by using porttester and
specifying localhost as computername and 68 as port.
Port tester should return Port Not Available otherwise you have
to check computer with antivirus software , becase some backdoors may use this port.

1.Download Porttester Anwendung von dieser Website (Download-Button auf der linken Seite).
2.Anwendung hat zwei Textfelder auf der Oberseite: eine für Server-Name oder IP ein anderes für Port.
3. Geben Sie den Servernamen und Port und klicken Sie auf [Test], um bestimmten Port auf dem Server zu testen.
4.Application zurückkehren wird "Port available", ob der Port ist auf diesem Server öffnen oder zurückkehren wird "Port is not available"
und Details der Verbindung Problem.
